Pakistan Sends 60 Tons of Aid for Lebanese Arrivals in Syria
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – A humanitarian aid shipment from Pakistan arrived in Syria on Monday, containing 60 tons of blankets designated for individuals who fled the conflict in Lebanon and sought refuge in Syria.
Pakistani Ambassador to Damascus, Shahid Akhtar, told the state-run news agency SANA that “this shipment is part of the Pakistani government’s ongoing aid efforts, which began last month. It includes 60 tons of blankets to support Lebanese arrivals in Syria during the winter season.”
The Syrian Higher Relief Committee confirmed in a statement that the shipment “includes 60 tons of blankets,” underscoring the Pakistani government’s commitment to humanitarian relief efforts.
Since the beginning of the conflict in Lebanon, Syria has received aid from various Arab and non-Arab countries, aimed at supporting and easing the hardships faced by Lebanese refugees in Syria.
