Turkish strikes disrupt water supply in Syria’s Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Municipality Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced on Wednesday that Turkish airstrikes have disrupted the operation of 604 water wells in Hasakah Governorate after targeting electricity and fuel facilities.
In a statement, the Board criticized the “international silence regarding the crimes committed by Turkish forces.”
It also noted that one of its firefighters sustained injuries during the bombardment while on duty.
The statement highlighted that the shelling has hindered fuel delivery to service centers, resulting in a significant shortage of fuel supplies.
Furthermore, it warned that “bakeries and flour storage facilities have been struck, which will adversely affect the region’s economic and security stability, potentially leading to a new wave of migration.”
Over the past week, Turkey has repeatedly bombed electricity companies in the city of Kobani and the town of Amuda. The AANES previously reported losses in the energy sector due to these attacks, totaling approximately five million US dollars.
