ISIS militants attack oil tankers in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Militants of the Islamic State (ISIS) targeted on Tuesday oil tankers with automatic weapons in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria.
A local source from the town of al-Dahla in Deir ez-Zor countryside said that two ISIS militants opened fire on a convoy of oil tankers as it was leaving the al-Omar oil field on the main road near the town of al-Busayrah.
The attack resulted in significant material damage and a fuel spill on the road, which caused vehicles to skid.
Additionally, ISIS militants riding a motorcycle attacked oil tankers with an AK-47 on the main road in the town of al-Dahla, leading to more material damage, according to the source.
Hours later, ISIS claimed responsibility for the attacks on the oil tankers in Deir ez-Zor.
