Turkish border guards assault 27 civilians in NW Syria
AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – Turkish border guards killed on Monday a Syrian civilian and injured two others while attempting to cross into Turkey from the countryside of Afrin in northwestern Syria.
North Press correspondent citing a local source as saying that the Turkish border guards opened fire directly at Syrians who were attempting to cross the border to Turkey from the village of Hamam, west of the city of Afrin.
The firing resulted in the killing of an individual and the injury of two others. The border guards also severely beat 25 other individuals, including three women.
The source added that the border guards handed over the detained individuals to the Turkish-backed Military Police faction in Afrin, where they were fined with large sums of money.
