Iraqi forces arrest woman in charge of ISIS prisons in Nineveh
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Iraqi forces announced on Friday that they have arrested a woman suspected of managing women’s prisons for the Islamic State (ISIS) in Nineveh Governorate in northern Iraq.
The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security, affiliated with the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, stated that this woman was responsible for overseeing these prisons and for determining the loyalty of women to the group.
On Aug. 8, Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 11 ISIS militants, including a woman, in Nineveh.
The statement added the woman was working with the so-called “Al-Khansaa Battalion,” a unit made up entirely of women that served as a police and religious enforcement group.
