Iraqi forces arrest 11 ISIS militants in Nineveh
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday the arrest of 11 militants of the Islamic State (ISIS), including a woman, in the northern province of Nineveh.
In a statement published by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Interior Minister and Security spokesperson said their forces managed to “arrest 11 suspects wanted by the judiciary, according to Article 4/1 of terrorism, including a woman.”
The spokesperson added that one of them is a prominent leader, nicknamed Abu Bakr, who worked in the so-called Al-Baraa bin Malik Battalion/Martyrdom Fighters and they were working within ISIS terrorist gangs during their period of control over the city of Mosul.”
“They were arrested in areas and neighborhoods on the left side of the city of Mosul,” the spokesperson noted.
On July 15, Iraqi security forces killed a suspect affiliated with ISIS and arrested another in a security operation in Kirkuk.
