Turkish border guards fire at 3 civilians in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish border guards fired on Wednesday at three civilians, including a woman, while crossing the border to Turkey from the town of Kafr Lossin in the northern countryside of Idlib, northwestern Syria.
A local source from Kafr Lossin told North Press that the Turkish border guards opened fire on a woman and two young men, while attempting to cross the border to Turkey, resulting in the injury of them.
The source added that the injury of the woman is life-threatening, and she was taken to the Kafr Lossin Hospital, while the two young men sustained leg injuries and are in good health.
North Press correspondent added that the administration of Bab al-Hawa border crossing received 30 Syrians from the Turkish authorities. Those 30 Syrians were detained by the authorities a few days earlier while also attempting to cross border.
Syrians resort to dangerous smuggling routes to reunite with their families, to get job opportunities, or to cross to Europe aiming at seeking asylum to meet their needs, especially in poor living and economic conditions.
