Psycho-neurological center starts in Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – A center for the treatment of psycho-neurological illnesses was opened on Wednesday in the city of Raqqa in northern Syria.
Firas al-Fahd, founder of al-Amal psycho-neurological center, said the center targets those who suffer from psychological illnesses in Raqqa.
He told North Press that a group of psychiatrists and neurologists supervises the center, and that the center provides medical services including adopting inpatient rehab system.
As a result of the decade-long conflict and the spread of drug, Syria has witnessed a sharp rise in the number of psychopaths.
Al-Fahd added that the center will receive people with addiction due to the spread of drugs in Raqqa.
The spread of drugs in the city has caused crimes, suicide and robbery, he noted.
Al-Amal psycho-neurological center is the only center in Northeast Syria that takes care of addiction and psychological illnesses, according to al-Fahd.
