Iran, Russia condemn Israeli strikes on Syria’s Aleppo

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Iran and Russia condemned on Friday the Israeli airstrikes on Aleppo, northwest Syria, considering these attacks as a violation of the international rules and restrictions.

Nasser Kanaani, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, said that these attacks flagrantly violate international rules and regulations, as well as Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Earlier on Friday, over 38 people, including five members of the Lebanese Hezbollah, were killed, as a result of an Israeli attack targeting a number of points in Aleppo countryside.

Kanaani said that they pose a serious threat to regional and international peace and security, urging the international community and the United Nations Security Council “to take preventive measures and hold the aggressive Zionist regime accountable.”

In addition, Russia’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the “completely unacceptable” Israeli strikes, saying that these attacks “constitute a flagrant violation of the country’s sovereignty and the basic norms of international law.”
