Gunmen cause casualties in 2 attacks in Syria’s Homs, Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified individuals launched on Friday two separate attacks in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor and Homs, eastern and central Syria, killing three individuals and injuring others.

According to a military source from the Syrian government forces, unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle threw a bomb at a military vehicle of the government forces while the military personnel were shopping in a market in the town of al-Sukhnah in the east of Homs.

The source told North Press that the attack resulted in the killing of two soldiers, and caused damage to the vehicle, while the two attackers managed to escape outside the market.

Meanwhile, unknown gunmen attacked a post of the Iranian-backed Liwa Fatemiyoun militia with two rockets and machine guns near the village of Tayyba in the east of Deir ez-Zor, according to a military source.

The source pointed out the attack resulted in the killing of one militant of the Liwa Fatemiyoun, and the injury of two others with shrapnel.
