North Press joins HIC in pursuit of advocating human rights
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – North Press Agency has become a member of the Habitat International Coalition (HIC) after applying for membership. This comes following a visit by a team from the agency to the HIC’s office in Cairo.
HIC is a global non-profit network dedicated to advocating for and protecting human rights related to habitat, ensuring safe and dignified living conditions in both urban and rural areas.
In August 2023, North Press issued a joint call with HIC regarding the water crisis in northeastern Syria to the U.N.
HIC operates by fostering solidarity, facilitating communication, and enhancing the capacity of social movements and organizations. In addition, it plays a crucial role in influencing international public policies and placing important issues on the global agenda.
HIC seeks systemic change, develops transformative practices, rules and standards, and advocates for them as means to achieve social justice and improve living conditions.
