Asayish member killed in Turkish drone strike in Syria’s Hasakah
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Wednesday that one of its members was killed and others were injured in a Turkish drone attack on a vehicle carrying them on a road between the cities of Qamishli and Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
In a statement on its official website, the Asayish stated that “Turkey targeted this afternoon, Wednesday, Jan. 24, with a drone, a van belonging to our forces on the international road [M4 Highway] between the cities of Qamishli and Hasakah.”
The Asayish added that the targeting resulted in the death of one of its members and the injury of three others who were transferred to a hospital for necessary treatment.
They said that Turkey’s main objective in these attacks is to undermine the security and safety in the region, as well as to hinder the Asayish’s efforts in pursuing criminals and those who disrupt the security and stability.
