Asayish arrest 3 ISIS militants, kill another in Syria’s Manbij
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Friday detaining three militants and killing another of an Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cell in the city of Manbij, northern Syria.
The Asayish media center said, in a statement, that the security forces raided the hideout of an ISIS sleeper cell that carried out terrorist attacks in Manbij.
On Jan. 24, ISIS claimed responsibility for two attacks against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Manbij.
The attack resulted in the injury of a judge working with the SDF.
ISIS occasionally targets SDF fighters, military patrols, civilian employees working with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), as well as social and tribal figures in northern and eastern Syria.
The Asayish killed an ISIS militant while exchanging gunfire with them, the source added.
The arrested militants confessed that they carried out operations within the city of Manbij, according to the statement.
