Iran-Pakistan exchange strikes, armed groups disbelieve
QUETTA, Pakistan (North Press) – Pakistan’s minister of foreign affairs expressed on Friday to his Iranian counterpart his country’s willingness to work on all issues after both countries exchanged airstrikes and missile strikes on military bases of both countries.
In a statement, Pakistan’s foreign office said that Minister of Foreign Affairs Jalil Abbas Jilani called his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and expressed his country’s desire to work on all issues.
“Foreign Minister Jilani expressed Pakistan’s readiness to work with Iran on all issues based on spirit of mutual trust and cooperation,” the statement read. “He underscored the need for closer cooperation on security issues.”
This came after Pakistan and Iran exchanged strikes where Iran said the strikes killed nine people, including four children, but Pakistan announced that the strikes killed “a number of terrorists,” about two armed groups in Iran, Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), two biggest Baloch armed groups fighting Pakistan for a sovereign Baloch state.
However, the two groups issued press statements on Friday and confirmed that they have not suffered any casualties in Pakistani airstrikes inside Iranian territory. The Baloch groups said that in the attacks carried out by Iran and Pakistan, only innocent civilians have been killed and both states are equal enemies of the Baloch race.
Speaking to Manish Rai, editor of ViewsAround from an undisclosed location, a Baloch commander said that these strikes from Iran and Pakistan were staged drama and Iranians and Pakistanis cooperated while carrying out the strikes.
He further said that the security agencies of both countries share intelligence about the activities of Baloch armed groups regularly and are like partners in crime in oppressing Baloch people.
It is noteworthy that Iran has recently launched strikes on sites in Syria, Iraq, and Pakistan, targeting U.S. military bases in Syria and Iraq.
