Service facilities in NE Syria suspend operation – AANES

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria, announced on Wednesday that the region has been deprived of electricity, water, and gas due to Turkish strikes in the region, forcing hospitals and mills to suspend their services.

In a statement, the AANES noted that the Turkish airstrikes led to a complete power outage in cities and villages in the region, leaving all water stations, hospitals, clinics, bakeries, mills, and other service facilities without electricity. In addition, the attacks caused a loss of household gas and a shortage of fuel.

Oil refineries and wells used to supply gas and fuel to over five million citizens. Turkish attacks are considered “war crimes against humanity,” said the statement.

The statement highlighted that targeting the checkpoints of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) increased the activity of the Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cells, escalating the danger within camps housing families affiliated with ISIS.

The AANES condemned “the international silence” regarding the attacks and called on international and humanitarian organizations to rehabilitate the destroyed facilities and support stability in the region.
