Residents intercept Russian patrol in Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Residents of the town of Derbasiyah, north of Hasakah Governorate, northeast Syria, intercepted on Monday a Russian patrol on the northern outskirts of the town in protest against the Russian silence regarding the recent Turkish airstrikes on the region.

Earlier today, a worker was injured at the Derbasiyah power plant which was knocked out of service due to Turkish airstrikes.

Following the airstrikes, a Russian patrol was intercepted by the residents in the town, expressing their rejection of the Turkish airstrikes and condemning the Russian silence, considering Russia as a guarantor power in the region.

Over the past two days, Turkey has been launching drone strikes on areas adjacent to the border in northern and northeastern Syria, targeting infrastructure facilities, and properties of residents.
