Turkish airstrikes target power station, checkpoint in Syria’s Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – A Turkish drone targeted on Sunday a power station and a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) in the town of Ain Issa, north of Raqqa in northern Syria.
A local source from Ain Issa said a Turkish drone targeted the power station in the town, causing material damage to the station and affecting an office of the Transportation Directorate affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).
There has been no information about damages resulting from the airstrike on the checkpoint, and the Asayish have yet to comment on the incident.
The Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), frequently target areas and cities in northern Syria, resulting in casualties and material losses.
On Jan. 11, a Turkish drone targeted a post of the Syrian government forces near the village of al-Dandaniyah in the northwest of the city of Manbij, northern Syria. The attack resulted in damage to the military post, while no casualties were reported.
