Israel accuses Turkey of committing genocides against Kurds, Armenians
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz accused on Friday Turkey of committing acts of genocide against the Kurds and Armenians, in response to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s support for a case brought by South Africa against Israel, accusing it of committing genocide in Gaza.
Katz said on X platform, “We have not forgotten the Armenian holocaust and [Turkey’s] massacres of the Kurds.”
On the second day of hearings at the International Court of Justice, Israel rejected the accusations made by South Africa, dismissing them as a “genocidal campaign” regarding its military operation in Gaza.
“Erdogan, from a country with the Armenian Genocide in its past, now boasts of targeting Israel with unfounded claims,” Katz said.
For many years, Israel has refused Armenian pleas for official recognition of the “genocide” that occurred during the time of the Ottoman Empire.
