1 killed, another arrested by Turkish border guards in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – A young man was killed and another was injured on Thursday by Turkish border guards while attempting to cross into Turkey from the area of the village of Kherbet al-Joz in northwestern Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria.
On Dec. 31, two people were injured by Turkish border guards while trying to cross the Turkish-Syrian border from the town of Atmeh in northern Idlib. Days earlier, another person was killed similarly.
An administrative source told North Press that the young man Majd Arnous, 27, was killed while trying to enter Turkey from an area near Kherbet al-Joz, close to the Turkish-Syrian border, while another young man was injured and arrested.
The source added that the young man is from the city of Jisr al-Shughur in western Idlib and was on his way to Turkey in search of work.
