3 government soldiers killed in separate incidents in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Three soldiers of the Syrian government forces were killed on Wednesday in three separate incidents in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A military source told North Press that unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle shot Hussein al-Ma’rouf, 38, a member of the Military Security of the government forces, near the main road in the village of al-Kharita in the west of Deir ez-Zor, killing him immediately.
In a separate incident, a land mine detonated in a military vehicle of an infantry division of the government forces on the outskirts of the desert near the town of al-Tebni in the west of Deir ez-Zor.
The explosion led to the killing of Sakhr al-Hassan, a soldier, and the injury of two others, according to the same source.
In a third incident, a member of the Criminal Security of the government forces in the al-Joura neighborhood was wounded in a clash with a drug dealer in Deir ez-Zor. Two days later, he succumbed to his injuries, the source said.
