Turkish strikes on NE Syria infrastructure cause 35 civilian casualties
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Airstrikes launched by Turkey on Monday against service and infrastructure facilities in various areas in Northeast Syria resulted in 35 civilian casualties.
The strikes targeted a factory for medical-use oxygen in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Meshtanour medical center in the city of Kobani, supported by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
The center was established after the expulsion of the Islamic State (ISIS) from Kobani in 2015 to provide healthcare services to locals.
The Monitoring and Documentation Department of North Press documented the killing of 10 civilians, including two women, and the injury of 25 others, including seven women and two children.
The Turkish strikes targeted a total of 33 sites, including 20 in Qamishli, four in the town of Amuda, four in Kobani, one in the town of Tirbe Spiyeh (al-Qahtaniya), one in the city of Manbij, and three in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
