Heavy mutual shelling resumes in de-escalation zone in NW Syria
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Mutual shelling renewed on Sunday in the de-escalation zone in northwestern Syria between Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) and the Syrian government forces.
Media platforms affiliated with the opposition reported that the government forces used heavy artillery and rockets to shell several villages and towns in Zawiya Mountain in the south of Idlib, northwestern Syria.
The government forces also shelled the villages of Balyun, Mozra, Ain Laruz, and Kansafra in Zawiya Mountain.
Similar shelling also targeted the villages of Fatterah and al-Bara in Zawiya Mountainز
No information on human losses were reported.
The platforms also pointed out that military reinforcements arrived on Saturday to several posts of the government forces in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that it had shot down seven drones belonging to “terrorists” in several areas in the countryside of Hama and Aleppo.
