War remnant blast injures 4 family members in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Four people from the same family were injured on Monday due to the explosion of an old war remnant in a town in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

War remnants continue to claim the lives of dozens in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, particularly children, especially in areas that were previously controlled by the Islamic State (ISIS).

Ali al-Saab, a nurse at al-Kaysoum Hospital in the city of Hajin, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press that “an old war projectile exploded with members of the al-Qarihan family after a child from the family tampered with it.”

Al-Saab added that the explosion resulted in four members of the same family sustaining varying injuries. They were subsequently transferred to the hospital. He noted that their injuries range from moderate to critical.
