Iraqi forces arrest 4 individuals suspected to belong to ISIS

ERBIL, KRI, Iraq (North Press) – The Directorate Military Intelligence, affiliated with the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, announced on Monday the arrest of four individuals accused of belonging to the Islamic State (ISIS) in three different Iraqi provinces.

The suspected were arrested in separated operations in the provinces of Anbar, Baghdad, and Saladin, according to statements published by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

As part of efforts to pursue the remaining remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs and based on accurate intelligence information, and through ambushes a court set up by the detachments was able to arrest three defendants wanted by the Iraqi judiciary, according to the statement.   

On the same day, in a discrete operation carried out by intelligence and security forces in Saladin province, another wanted individual was arrested. He was one of the prominent targets of the directorate, the INA added.

“The defendants were working and belonging to ISIS terrorist gangs,” the statement added, “they will be handed over to the requested authorities.”
