Global Coalition conducts patrols in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The US-led Global Coalition conducted on Friday patrols in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria, inspecting sites in those areas.
A source from the city of Hajin, eastern Deir ez-Zor, said that a Coalition patrol roamed neighborhoods for over two hours, then it stopped on the bank of the Euphrates River, inspecting sites near the river for over three hours.
Deir ez-Zor has recently witnessed military tensions between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and groups affiliated with Iran and the Syrian government forces, according to the SDF.
The region is witnessing intermittent attacks against the SDF headquarters and fighters. The SDF says that the Syrian government sends cells through the western bank of the river to its-held areas eastern the river.
The patrol continued its way towards the towns of al-Bahra, Gharanij, Abu Hamam in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, where it also inspected sites on the river bank, the source added.
