Iraqi militia claims attack on U.S. base in Erbil

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The so-called Islamic Resistance in Iraq said on Sunday it targeted a U.S. military base in Erbil, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI).

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of Iran-backed militias in Iraq, announced, through its own official accounts, that it had successfully targeted a U.S. base in Erbil International Airport using a drone.

The attack directly hit its intended target, the militia added.

In a phone call with the U.S. Secretary of State on Saturday, the Iraqi Prime Minister emphasized the country’s rejection of any attacks on Iraqi territory, reiterating the government’s commitment to protecting the advisors of the Global Coalition in Iraq, as stated in a government press release.
