Asayish officer loses his life in anti-drug raid in Syria’s Raqqa
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday,the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced the loss of one of their officers who succumbed to his injuries sustained days ago during a raid in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria.
Days ago, a source from Raqqa told North Press that an Asayish member was stabbed to death during a raid against drug dealers and smugglers in the city.
The Asayish Media Center stated that the officer, Firas al-Samran, lost his life as a result of injuries sustained several days ago during a raid.
The statement added that the officer had participated in numerous security campaigns and in the battles to liberate Raqqa from the Islamic State (ISIS).
