US-led Coalition provides medical aid to town in NE Syria’s Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, a civil affairs team of the US-led Global Coalition delivered medical aid to a clinic in the town of Tel al-Jayer in the southern countryside of Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria.
The medical assistance was handed over to the town after coordination between the civil affairs team, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (AANES), and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Director of AANES Health Directorate in the city of Hasakah, Mammo Khalil, told North Press, “Today, the Global Coalition, in order to support the clinic in Tel al-Jayer, delivered medical aid to us.”
Khalil added, “After discussions with the Coalition regarding medical support, they made promises to provide greater support to the medical sector in this area.”
Ali al-Ali, the co-chair of the AANES-affiliated Tel al-Jayer Local Council, told North Press, “This clinic serves more than 86 villages with a population of over 30,000. Therefore, we were in dire need of this medical aid.”
He added that the clinic still lacks many medical supplies, such as medications, and suffers from a shortage in its medical staff.
He emphasized that while the Coalition had previously provided specialized hospital equipment and fully equipped the clinic, the ongoing issue persisted with the lack of trained medical staff capable of effectively operating and maintaining the equipment.
