Iraqi families to leave NE Syria’s Hawl Camp
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Iraqi families have prepared to leave Hawl Camp, northeastern Syria, and head towards al-Jadaa camp in Mosul, Iraq.
An exclusive source told North Press that “199 families totaling 776 individuals from various Iraqi governorates are set to depart the camp, including 47 families from Salah al-Din, 50 families from Nineveh, 85 families from Anbar, seven families from Kirkuk, two families from Babylon, and eight families from Baghdad.”
Al-Araji stated during the seventh ambassadors’ conference in Baghdad that since the repatriation process began, a total of 1,567 Iraqi families have been brought back from Hawl Camp, adding that these families were subsequently relocated to al-Jadaa camp for rehabilitation purposes.
The execution of this trip is carried out through coordination between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Iraqi security leadership, the camp administration, and under the supervision of the US-led Global Coalition. Similar trips have been conducted in the past, totaling 11.
