Robberies, instability surge in SNA-held areas in Syria’s Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Areas in Azaz and Afrin in northern Aleppo, northern Syria, where Turkish-backed factions of the Syrian National Army (SNA) are in control, witnessed more than 18 cases of robbery against residents on Friday. This comes amid ongoing security chaos in the region.
A source from the SNA’s Military Police told North Press that the police received 18 reports in less than 24 hours regarding theft and looting incidents targeting motorcycle riders, cars, and women’s bags in the cities of Azaz and Afrin in northern Aleppo.
Recently, there has been an increase in the number of purse snatching incidents targeting women in Afrin. On Friday alone, seven such incidents were reported, while five were reported in Azaz. Furthermore, three car owners and three motorcycle riders fell victim to robbery.
The source emphasized that these incidents have been occurring more frequently lately, with over 45 cases reported in the past week.
