Islamic Resistance targets Ain al-Asad airbase in Iraq

ERBIL, KRI, Iraq (North Press) – Islamic Resistance, Iranian-affiliated militia, claimed on Tuesday responsibility for targeting the US military airbase of Ain al-Asad in the Anbar Governorate in western Iraq.

The group said, in a statement, that it targeted the airbase with two drones.

The Islamic Resistance has carried out a series of attacks against US military bases in Syria and Iraq since the beginning of the war between Hamas an Israel.

The US Department of Defense (DoD) revealed on Monday that 23 attacks targeted US bases in Syria and Iraq since Oct. 17.

Local media sources said that the attack was thwarted.

However, the Islamic Resistance’s statement said that the attack hit the target directly.
