Turkish authorities deport 27 Syrians, Iraqis to Syria

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, Turkish authorities deported 27 Syrians and Iraqis to Syrian territory through the Ras al-Ain border crossing in northern Hasakah, northeastern Syria, marking the sixth deportation of Syrians during June.

A source told North Press that Turkish authorities deported 27 people, including women and children, to Syria and handed them over to the Military Police, affiliated with the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), in Sere Kaniye city (Ras al-Ain) for investigation.

On Wednesday, the first day of Eid al-Adha, Turkish authorities deported 22 Syrian refugees through Bab al-Hawa border crossing to Idlib Governorate in northwest Syria without notifying their relatives residing in Turkey.  

Turkey continues to deport Syrian refugees illegally, claiming that they have violated asylum laws and failed to update their personal information related to their temporary protection ID cards (kimlik).
