IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish authorities deported on Wednesday 28 Syrian refugees to areas held by Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka Syrian National Army (SNA), in northern Syria.

A private source of Bab al-Hawa border crossing with Turkey north of Idlib, northwest Syria, told North Press that 28 Syrians, including four women were deported from Turkey to Syrian via the crossing.

Some of those who were deported said that they were deported for no evident reasons.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on May 23 that Turkey will deport one million Syrian refugees to northern Syria.

The number of the Syrian refugees deported by the Turkish authorities to Syria in April has reached 722, the Bab al-Hawa crossing revealed.
