Forum held in Qamishli on World Environment Day
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Green Strands Association, an organization that encourages planting and cares for environment, held forum at the Rojava University Hall in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The dialogue forum was launched under the slogan “Finding Solutions to Plastic Pollution” and saw the participation of specialized academics, as well as environmental institutions and bodies in northeastern Syria.
During the forum, environmental issues were discussed, with an emphasis on finding solutions to plastic pollution in the region.
Adad Ali, an expert in environmental architecture, told North Press that they “dedicated this year, on the occasion of World Environment Day, to discuss combating plastic pollution in the environment and how to eliminate this pollution.”
He pointed out that plastic pollution in the region has exceeded all boundaries and has become a serious problem that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Through the participants’ proposals, a solution to this problem is expected to be reached in the near future.
