British media praise success of first female Syrian refugee pilot

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Success story of the female Syrian refugee, Maya Ghazal, who has become the world’s first female Syrian refugee to become a qualified pilot went viral on British media websites.

The 21-year-old Ghazal, who has become a pilot, is one of the youngest aircraft driver’s license holders in Britain, and she is the first female Syrian refugee to become a qualified pilot in the world.

British media praised the Syrian refugee’s “perseverance”.

In a report publicized by Time Aerospace said she was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR last year.

The report added that she “inspired attendees” during the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) held in London last week.

“She amplifies what aviation is all about…It’s about perseverance, it’s about stamina, it’s about focus,” said EBAA Secretary General Athar Husain Khan in introducing Ghazal.

“I wanted to be the refugee who bucked the trend,” Ghazal said.
