HTS congratulates Erdogan for winning Turkish elections
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS – formerly al-Nusra Front) congratulated on Monday Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for winning Turkish election.
Administration of political affairs of Salvation Government, affiliated with the HTS, said, in a statement, “We wish that Turkish people gets more security and the Syrian people and revolution get more support by this victory, and the enhancement of Turkey’s role in supporting suppressed people around the world.”
On Sunday, the head of the Turkish Supreme Election Commission, Ahmed Yanar, announced that Erdogan won the second round of the presidential elections.
The HTS, founded in 2017, controls the city of Idlib and the western countryside of Aleppo, using the Salvation Government as a political and administrative umbrella since.
