Two families in Aleppo’s SNA areas clash, militant injured
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Fierce clashes erupted on Sunday evening between two families in the opposition-controlled areas in Aleppo Governorate, northern Syria, injuring a militant of the Turkish-backed armed factions.
An exclusive source told North Press that two families in the town of Bza’a in the countryside of al-Bab city, east of Aleppo, clashes using light and medium weapons, amid insecurity state prevailed in the area.
A member of the Military Police (MP), a faction of the Syrian National Army (SNA) that is supported by Turkey, was injured in the clashes while trying to disengage.
Areas held by the Turkish-backed SNA factions witness security chaos accompanied by killings and successive fighting among the factions themselves amid weapons proliferation and the factions’ inability to maintain security there.
Al-Bab city has been under the control of Turkey and its affiliated factions since 2017.
On May 2, the SNA’s Hamza Division shot at a young man in the city of al-Bab.
On May 4, members of the SNA’s Civil Police assaulted women in a camp in Rajo district in the countryside of Afrin, northwest Syria, as they tried to demonstrate in front of a nearby Turkish base.
The Kurdish city of Afrin has been under the occupation of Turkey since March 2018 following a military operation that was launched in January of that year by the Turkish forces and the SNA factions to push away the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) under the pretext of protecting “Turkish national security.”
The operation caused the displacement of about 300,000 of the original inhabitants of the Kurds of Afrin who have been taking shelter in 42 villages and five camps in Aleppo northern countryside, locally known as Shahba region, since then.
There are about 16.000 displaced families from Afrin distributed over 42 villages and towns in Shahba region, in addition to 1.870 families, comprising 7.500 individuals, now living in the camps of Barkhodan, Sardam, Afrin, al-Awda, and Shahba, according to the Social Affairs and Labor Board of Afrin, currently operating in Aleppo northern countryside.
