NW Syria records 168 coronavirus cases in week

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Health department of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) recorded on Monday 168 coronavirus new cases in areas of northwest Syria in one week.

The Civil Defense, an organization operating in northwest Syria, announced on its official outlets the recording of “168 coronavirus new infections in Idlib and the countryside of Aleppo during the last week.”

Twenty one cases of the recorded cases were for residents of camps amid growing fears of witnessing a surge in the number of cases.

Since early this year, the coronavirus infections have drastically decreased in the opposition-held areas, according to North Press Monitoring and Documentation Department.
