22,500 Syrians crossed Bab al-Hawa to Syria since February
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The administration of the Bab al-Hawa border crossing, between Turkey and Syria in Idlib Governorate, announced on Saturday that the number of Syrians crossed from earthquake-hit Turkey into Syria since the deadly earthquake has reached 22,500.
The number of Syrians arriving to northwestern Syria from Bab al-Hawa crossing in Idlib countryside, Jarablus, Bab al-Salameh in the north of Aleppo, and Tel Abyad in the north of Raqqa has reached more than 65,000, according to the latest statistics published by the official accounts of the crossings.
Recently, Turkey has eased border-crossing regulations for Syrian Temporary Protection Identities (Kimlik) holders from any of the earthquake-stricken provinces.
The new law, passed in the wake of the Feb. 6 earthquake, allows Syrians holding “Kimlik” from one of the ten quake-hit Turkish provinces to return to their country for three to six months.
At dawn on Feb. 6, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Syria and Turkey. The confirmed death toll stood at 59,259 in Turkey, and 8,476 in Syria.
