SNA leaders found stealing aid for earthquake victims in Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – A commander in the Levant Front (Jabhat al-Shamiya), a faction of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), and members of the local council in the city of Soran in Aleppo northern countryside, north Syria, stole aid meant for quake-affected people, exclusive sources told North Press on Sunday.
According to the information obtained, Bakri Jijo stole flour and relief aid meant for affected people with the complicity of Zaza, a member of the Soran’s Chamber of Commerce.
At dawn on Feb. 6, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit northwestern Syria and southern Turkey, killing more than 50,000 individuals and injuring much more. The earthquake also caused immense destruction of buildings, trapping thousands under the rubble.
The SNA commander stole tents given by the civil society organizations from the local council’s warehouses with the involvement of council members.
The humanitarian aid provided by local and international organizations continues to be stolen by militants and leaders of Turkish-backed factions in northwest Syria according to reports by North Press correspondents present in the region
