Worker dead, Two Injured when Wrecking at-risk Building in Aleppo
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, a worker lost his life and two others were injured when they fell from an excavator while preparing to demolish a cracked building following the earthquake in Qadi Askar neighborhood in Aleppo.
The wounded sustained various fractures and bruises and were taken to al-Razi Public Hospital according to government media outlets.
On Feb. 10, the Syrian government declared the governorates of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, and Idlib disaster areas following the Feb. 6 devastating earthquake that hit Syria and Turkey.
The earthquake caused the collapse of dozens of buildings in Aleppo, whereas the City Council is demolishing at-risk buildings that pose a danger to locals.
