Turkey sends more 100 bodies of Syrians died in its earthquake to Syria
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – More than 100 bodies of Syrians lost their lives in the devastating earthquake that hit both Syria and Turkey were transferred to Syria through Bab al-Hawa border crossing in the last 24 hours.
At dawn on Feb. 6, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Syria and Turkey, killing tens of thousands and injuring many more. The earthquake also caused immense destruction of buildings, trapping thousands under the rubble.
An informed source said that 120 bodies reached the crossing during the last 24 hours, raising the total toll to 1.330 ones during seven days.
Turkish authorities hand over the bodies to the crossing’s management so they can be handed over to their families later on, the source added.
It is expected recording greater numbers of the Syrian victims in Turkey in the next days, according to the source.
With the start of the Syrian civil war in 2011, Syrian people resorted to Turkey seeking peace and job opportunities. However, they mistreated by the Turkish authorities.
Reports indicate that there are about four million Syrian refugees in Turkey.
