Syria’s Earthquake victims toll surges to 3.694 dead, 14.806 injured
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Victims’ toll of earthquakes that struck Syria on Feb. 6 after stronger ones that hit Turkey has surged to 3.694 dead and 14.806 injured as a provision count.
Civil Defense (White Helmet), operating in the opposition-held Idlib, northwest Syria announced, after verifying statistics of most medical parties, recording 2.274 dead and more than 12.400 injured up to Monday evening.
Syrian Ministry of Health announced the number of the earthquake’s victims in the government-held areas has come up to 1.414 dead and 2.349 injured.
Meanwhile, the toll in areas held by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) remained steady, recording six dead and 75 injured.
Operations of search and pulling bodies from under the rubbles and removing debris are still continuing thus the victims’ toll is expected to rise further.
