Rescue operations conclude in Latakia
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Media Office of Latakia governorate announced on Monday that search and rescue operations for the Feb. 6 earthquake’s victims were over in Latakia, western Syria.
The office added, in a statement on its Facebook page, “Rescue teams of the governorate finished search for victims under the rubble of the buildings that collapsed due to the earthquake that hit Syria on February 6.”
The office said, however, that work on lifting and removing debris is still ongoing.
On Sunday, Russian Deputy Emergencies Minister Alexey Serko announced the end of search and rescue operations for survivors under the rubble in Latakia Governorate.
