Manbij’s response team announces readiness for any emergency
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The People’s Municipality of the city of Manbij, north Syria, affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), announced on Monday that the rapid response team is on high alert given the current circumstances.
The director of the Manbij garage, affiliated to the AANES People’s Municipality, Mahmoud Hassan, told North Press, “The firefighting team, trucks, bulldozers, and rescue workers have been equipped to quickly intervene in any emergency.”
He added that the rapid response team has been fully ready since the beginning of winter to deal with weather events such as floods, among others.
Hassan stated that the team responded immediately when the earthquake took place at dawn today, and deployed its team in the city.
He also said that there is a close coordination between the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish), Police Rescue and Health Committee regarding providing well-equipped ambulances.
Hassan called on people to leave their houses and head to empty spaces such as public squares, parks and agrarian lands in case of new earthquakes.
At dawn on Monday, a disastrous earthquake hit large areas in Syria claiming hundreds of lives and causing considerable damage and destruction.
