Burglaries Spread in Afrin City After Earthquake
AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – Unknown persons burglarized several shops and houses in the city of Afrin, northwest Syria, on Monday after their owners fled from the city following an earthquake which hit Turkey and Syria earlier that day.
A local source told North Press, “Unknown people burglarized a gold shop belonging to a man called Abu Rinas in the Mahmoudiyeh neighborhood in downtown Afrin.”
The source added that other shops in Villat Avenue in the city center were also burglarized after the earthquake.
The city of Afrin and its countryside have been occupied by Turkey and affiliated Syrian opposition factions since an invasion in March 2018.
