Syrian Universities Postpone Exams Following Earthquake

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian universities of Damascus, al-Baath in Homs, and Euphrates in Deir ez-Zor announced on Monday that they would postpone exams scheduled for Tuesday due to earthquakes affecting the country.

The universities of Tishreen, Tartus, Hama, and Aleppo postponed conducting exams following the earthquake that rocked Syria and Turkey at dawn on Monday.

Syria’s Ministry of Education has not released any statements about suspending school days.

The Syrian Minister of Education, Darem al-Tabaa, said that there is no official decision to suspend schooling.

Al-Tabaa stated to Sham FM, a local radio station, that officials of the Education Directorates are authorized to take necessary decisions in case there is a need to suspend classes.
