Egypt ready to support earthquake-affected in Syria, Turkey
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Egypt announced on Monday its readiness to provide support to meet destruction caused by the earthquake that hit Syria and Turkey.
Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed, in a statement, its solidarity with Syria and Turkey and offered its condolences to the families of the earthquake’s victims.
On Monday at dawn, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, killing hundreds in both countries with many still struck under rubbles.
The earthquake killed 237 people and the injured 539 others in the Syrian governorates of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama and Tartus.
While in Turkey, 284 have lost their lives and 2.300 have been injured in seven provinces, Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, Adana, Adıyaman, Malatya.
