Turkish organization finishes building settlement in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – ATurkish organization finished on Tuesday establishing a settlement in the western countryside of Idlib, northwest Syria, and resettled IDPs there.
An exclusive sources told North Press that the organization of BINAA for Developments has ended handing over 280 apartments in al-Ajami apartment complex near the town of al-Sheikh Bahr northwest of Idlib to IDPs after construction and rehabilitation works have been finished.
The settlement that is fenced includes a mosque, a school and a water tank, according to the source.
According to figures obtained by North Press, there are nearly 50 settlements built in northern Idlib and some 45 in northern Aleppo, mostly were built in 2022.
The projects aim at settling the Turkey-based Syrian refugees and the militants of the Turkish-backed opposition factions, also known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), according to international reports.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced a project in May 2022 to settle one million Syrian refugees residing in Turkey in the areas the latter and the Turkish-backed SNA factions control in northern Syria.
