Turkish border guards kill young man in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – An IDP from Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, was killed on Monday by Turkish border guards’ fire while trying to have access into Turkish territory from Idlib, northwest the country.
Local sources told North Press the 22-year-old Kheder Hussein Abdurrazaq was sniped by Turkish border guards while trying to cross the Syrian border into Turkey illegally.
The sources added that the young man hails from the village of Zaghir Jazira in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor and fled with his family to Idlib years ago.
He tried to pass into Turkey in his search for a work to support his family, according to the sources.
On December 3, the Turkish border guard shot at a young man and a lady, wounding them critically while they were trying to cross the border near the village of Kherbet Eljoz northwest of Idlib.
Since the start of the Syrian crisis until February 21, 2022, more than 525 Syrians were killed, including 101 minors and 67 women, and the injury of further 1.337 persons by the Turkish gendarmerie, according to a report by Violation Documentation Center in Northern Syria (VDC-NSY).
